A unit of Smt.Jivibai Genmalji Solanki Charitable Trust, Project
Drishti (PD) was initiated in April 2001 with
the sole objective of providing quality comprehensive eye
care services to the poor and under-privileged sections
of the society. Backed by a wealth of experience spanning
years in community eye care and professionals passionate
about catering to the needy, PD has dedicated
its efforts towards this end works with the motto
‘Every person has the right to see’.
The project, supported by Mahaveer Eye Hospital, handles
complicated diseases like diabetes, hypertension, corneal
blindness, childhood blindness, trauma, glaucoma and central
nervous system disorders with compassionate ease.
Since its inception, PD has conducted 1,934 free
eye-screening camps and performed more than 80,000 eye
surgeries absolutely free of cost. Project Drishti has
a dedicated and committed team of eye care professionals,
paramedical personnel and a growing list of volunteers working
under the able leadership and guidance of Dr. Narpat
Solanki, a renowned Ophthalmologist in the field
of Community Ophthalmology.
Dr. Solanki has successfully performed more than
55, 000 surgeries.
