Right from my childhood I have always dreamt of a peaceful
and happy world where all living beings could co exist in
harmony with each other. Being a Jain from birth I was also
taught to live and let live.
As I grew up this ideology influenced
me a lot and I choose the profession I am in today and
I promised to help as many as possible. I always searched
for ways to bring smiles on peoples faces and in 2001 I
came up with the idea of creating a foundation, which would
work for the upliftment of the visually disabled. I named
it Project Drishti, as it was a project, which aimed at
giving vision to all who have darkness in their lives.
I
was blessed enough to have a fully charged, vibrant, energetic
and dedicated team of professionals who worked day in and
day out for this purpose and we have crossed milestones every
now and then.
Having screened over 8,00,000 people and with
over 80,000 free surgeries under our belt in a matter of
6 years, our long list of achievements is something we are
proud of.
We have covered more than 11 districts in our state
and have achieved outstanding results every passing year and
promise to continue our fight against blindness.
All this
would have not been possible without the help of organizations
like JGI, JSF, JYF, Manasa medical trust, Rotary International,
Lions clubs and many others including philanthropists. I
still remember the day I was awarded the Karnataka Rajyotsava
award and felt that my team deserved it more than me.
On behalf
of my team, I promise that we will work with greater enthusiasm
and achieve even higher results and only request your unending
support as ever.
