Project Drishti conducts special eye camps for targeted groups. Inmates at Government Prisons, Beggars’ Colony, Lepers’ Home, Old Age Home, Traffic Police Personnel, State Government bus crew, drivers and conductors, Artist Associations, amongst others have benefited from Project Drishti Projects.

To commemorate the birthday anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Project Drishti organised a free eye screening camp for the inmates of the Central Jail at Parappana Agrahara in the outskirts of Bangalore on October 01, 2005. This camp was held in association with Lions Club of Bangalore Banaswadi, Central Jail, and District Blindness Control Society Bangalore Urban.
The camp that began early morning saw more than 500 prisoners screened for various eye ailments. Free medicines and spectacles were also provided and more than 20 prisoners were selected for cataract surgeries.
The chief donor at this camp was Mr. Babulal Ranka of Ranka Ispat, Whitefield, Bangalore, a renowned Industrialist and Philanthropist. Mr. Ranka, Mr.B.A.Abbai, DIG Prisons, Lion. Harish Shetty, President and other members of Lions Club of Bangalore Banaswadi were also present during the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Abbai lauded the generous support of Mr.Ranka, who in addition to sponsoring this camp is involved with several charitable causes.
