Laser Assisted in-Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) is the world’s most advanced refractive procedure that uses the excimer laser. The process combines the lifting of a thin corneal 'cap' with the precision and accuracy of excimer laser technology. Using LASIK, surgeons at M-LASIK create a thin corneal 'cap' using an instrument called a microkeratome.
This is followed by the gentle folding back of the 'cap' and use of the excimer laser to reshape the internal tissue of the cornea. The corneal 'cap' is then replaced in its original position where it adheres quickly and seals itself without the use of stitches.
Surgeons throughout the world have discarded RK as well as the PRK excimer laser procedure in favor of LASIK. This is the most advanced excimer laser procedure available for the treatment of low to high degrees of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
LASIK is the fastest growing vision correction procedure ever performed and has helped millions of people worldwide to reduce or eliminate their dependence on corrective eyewear.
Advantages of LASIK treatment
(i) Fast visual recovery
(ii) Minimal discomfort
(iii) High degree of predictability
(iv) No pain and no bandages required
(v) Both eyes can be treated at the same time
(vi) Very less chances of regression
(vi) Very low risk of infection
The ALLEGRETTO WAVE EYE-Q advnatage:
The Wave front guided 400 Hz ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q is much superior to all other conventional lasers as it facilitates treatment for each eye specifically. The fully computer-aided technology makes the treatment most precise and reliable in laser industry.
Allegretto Wave Eye-Q 400 Hz is the fastest and safest laser technology available in the world today.
A unique feature of this is the presence of true smallest laser beam. The sensitive eye tracker system combined with wave front guided technology gives the following unique benefits:
1. Reduces the chances of decentralized treatment of corneas.
2. There is tissue saving capacity of up to 40% per diopter.
3. It reduces the chances for recurrence.
4. Improves day and night vision
5. There is superior optical clarity
6. Treatment is possible of even the most complex refractive errors or corneal
irregularities.
Three steps to a great vision
Step 1:
o Surgeons at M-LASIK use an instrument called Microkeratome to create a small protective flap of corneal tissue that is partly lifted back
Step 2:
o Surgeons at M-LASIK then use Excimer Laser to apply a cool beam of light that gently reshapes the Cornea. This allows the Retina to focus more sharply on the images
Step 3:
o The protective flap that was created in Step 1 by the surgeons at M-LASIK is gently placed back to its original position and the healing process begins immediately
Success Rate
The unique features of wave front guided Allegretto Wave Eye-Q has taken its success rate to greater heights.
