With nearly two decades of service and experience in eye care, Dr. Narpat Solanki, has been the inspiration for a panel of highly qualified and skilled eye surgeons at MEH, M-LASIK and Project Drishti.
Dr. Solanki completed his Masters Degree in Ophthalmology from Rajasthan University and established a successful eye hospital in Bangalore. Later, he was instrumental in the establishment of Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Bangalore. Amongst his many tasks, he has been a member of the Medical Advisory Board and Honorary Medical Director, Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Netralaya.
His specialization in Phaco, Small Incision Cataract Surgery, Refractive Surgery and Squint Surgery has spurred him to a record 40,000 plus eye surgeries.
Project Drishti, a unit of the Smt. Jivibai Genmalji Solanki Charitable Trust, is a community initiative providing comprehensive eye care services to under-privileged sections of the society. 10,000 plus free eye camps and 42,000 plus free eye surgeries have been performed through the path-breaking venture.
Amongst his litany of associations, Dr. Solanki is a member of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Karnataka Ophthalmic Society (KOS), Rajasthan Ophthalmic Society (ROS), Eye Bank Association of India (EBAI), and Honorary Member of both the Rotary Club of Bangalore Brigades and Lions Club of Bangalore East.
He has been awarded the prestigious Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, the highest state award for public service. Aside, he is a recipient of the Rotary Community Service Award, Sunetra Vidyavaridhi Award, Sraman Bhagwan Mahaveer Manav Seva Award, Samaj Bhushan Award, Rotary Vocational Excellence Award, Karnataka Jyoti Prashasti Award, and Seva Shiromani Award amongst others.
